The Rivanna Golf Club, previously named Laurel Ridge Golf Club is a Public 18 hole golf course located in Palmyra, Virginia. The Rivanna Resort & Golf Club is only 20 minutes from Charlottesville, the University of Virginia, Monticello (the home of Thomas Jefferson) and Ash Lawn (the home of James Monroe).
The Rivanna Golf Course first opened for play in 1997. The course was designed by Brian Smith. The course has been rennovated by Ed Carton.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees the course plays to 6,470 yards. From the forward tees the course measures 4,704 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 603 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 8, a par-3 that plays to 148 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 11, a 392 yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at The Rivanna Golf Club is # 2, a 158 yard par-3.
